Those more inclined to the peat and smoke, such as myself, will have to spend some time with the Glenfiddich 12 year old to appreciate its character. I easily recommend adding a dash of water to this one, and also allowing it some 'air-time' in the glass before giving it a go. The air allows its full spicy, oaky and fruity nature to come out, and the water provides a great balance. Ice is definitely not recommended here, as the malt is not too strong and will immediately be numbed by the cold.
